A Letter From Dr. Simon Wong

You don’t have to learn it the way I did.

Postural Orthodontics · Melbourne, Australia
Dr. Simon Wong with his mentor, the late Prof. John Mew
Dr. Simon Wong with his mentor, the late Prof. John Mew.

Welcome — and thank you.

If you’re reading this, you’re considering something most dentists never do: learning to guide a child’s growth — not just straighten teeth, but, where possible, avoid extractions altogether. I want you to understand what that means — because it’s the reason this program exists.

Somewhere in your chair is a child whose face is still forming. Their jaws, their airway, the way they breathe and sleep — all of it is being shaped right now, in a window that closes far sooner than most of us were taught. Conventional training says wait, watch, extract, fix it later with braces. I believed that too, for years.

Then I saw what happens when we intervene early — properly, with the right sequence of expansion, appliances, and Good Oral Posture — and I couldn’t unsee it. Faces that grew forward instead of back. Airways that opened. Children who avoided extractions and surgery altogether. Across hundreds of consecutive cases and over twenty years, one thing became undeniable: early interceptive Postural Orthodontics changes the trajectory of a child’s life. That’s not a technique. It’s a responsibility.

But I won’t pretend I arrived here in a straight line. It took me the better part of two decades — and a great many mistakes. Cases I misjudged. Sequences I got wrong. I learned most of it the hard way: alone, at night, poring over my own photos, second-guessing decisions that were already made. I share this because it is the whole point of what we’re doing here.

Because you don’t have to learn it the way I did.

I didn’t arrive at this alone, either. I was fortunate to learn from mentors including the late Professor John Mew — the pioneer who first showed the world we could guide a child’s facial growth rather than simply move teeth. What I share with you builds on that foundation, refined — and corrected — over two decades of my own cases. Now it’s my turn to pass it on, and to spare you the potholes I hit finding the road.

So let me be honest about what you’ve signed up for. This is not a weekend course you finish and file away. It’s a discipline and a specialization — new, different from everything you were taught, and impossible to master in a hurry. You may feel overwhelmed at first. Every dentist here did — I did. That feeling isn’t a sign you’re behind; it’s the beginning of seeing cases, and airways, as they truly are. It lifts. The dentists who thrive here aren’t the most gifted; they’re the ones who show up. Who study between sessions. Who sit in on other doctors’ cases and learn from them. Who treat every child as if they were their own.

I’ll hold you to that standard — not to be hard on you, but because a child’s growth doesn’t get a second attempt, and because I believe you’re capable of it. If I push you, it’s because I’ve seen what you can become.

In return, here is my commitment to you: I will hold nothing back. Every case I’ve learned from, every mistake I’ve made, every judgment call I’ve refined over two decades — it’s yours. Take it. My hope is simple: that you reach in a few years what took me many more. That is what these sessions are, and what the Clinical Case Study Vault preserves: not slides and theory, but real cases thought through out loud — so you can pull up the child who looks most like the one in front of you.

And understand who you’re becoming. You’re not simply adding a service to your practice. You’re joining a small group of clinicians defining what early intervention will look like twenty years from now — for our profession, and for the children who’ll never know how different their lives might have been.

So welcome. Bring your cases, bring your questions, and bring your effort. Let’s get to work — and let’s do it properly.

Let’s guide our children’s growth… together,
Dr. Simon Wong, Postural Orthodontics

How the Mentorship Works

Live 1:1 case mentorship — the core of the program.

All mentorship is delivered through small-group case-review calls on Zoom, every two weeks, where Dr. Wong directly mentors you on your own cases.

01

Every two weeks

Weekend sessions, two tracks

Each runs ~2.5–3.5 hours. Small groups of typically 4–6 clinicians per track — capped deliberately, so airtime stays meaningful.

02

Your own cases

Submitted the Friday before

Submit a case, flag the decision you’re wrestling with, and work through it with Dr. Wong. Each participant gets dedicated 1:1 time while the others observe and take their turns.

03

Recorded & archived

Filed in the Vault

All 1:1 case mentorship is live and recorded. Miss a weekend and the full recording is waiting — yours, and every other member’s.

04

Weekly live Q&A

Thursdays, 12pm Melbourne

~50 minutes, where you can ask any questions related to your clinical training curriculum. Your own patients are covered in your 1:1 case time.

05

Private community

~10–12 members

A WhatsApp group across both tracks, where Dr. Wong may also step in on urgent matters between sessions.

06

Urgent cases

On-demand, optional

A case-review service for time-sensitive clinical decisions, separate from your allocated monthly mentoring time.

Tracks, Times & Rhythm

Two tracks every 2 weekends.
You choose one.

To support members globally, mentorship runs across two fixed tracks. You choose one for your 1:1 time and may attend the other as an observer. Once this cohort is full we’ll open a further track.

Track 1 — Saturday

Starts 9:00 PM Melbourne · runs up to ~2.5 hours
US: Sat 7:00 AM ET (Apr–Oct) · generally Sat 5:00 AM ET otherwise

Track 2 — Sunday

Starts 8:30 AM Melbourne · runs up to ~3.5 hours
US: Sat 6:30 PM ET (Apr–Oct) · generally Sat 4:30 PM ET otherwise

Rhythm & commitment

Calls run roughly every 2 weeks, with a ~3-week break between quarters. Start any time, subject to a spot in your track. Initial commitment 3 months, renewed in 3-month blocks. A 12–18 month commitment is typical.

Each 3-month enrollment includes

The next 6 consecutive mentoring weekends; 1:1 mentorship in your chosen track; and — whichever tier you join — the Clinical Case Study Vault plus all other training (2-Day Intro, all 2 or 4 Advanced Modules). Worth ~$300+/month on its own.

135+ Consecutively Treated Cases

Dr. Wong's own clinical cases—the foundation of every protocol taught. Reproducible, documented outcomes, researched at Texas A&M.

(Individual results vary and are not guaranteed. All cases shown above were treated by Dr. Wong using Orthotropic-type techniques designed for more severe malocclusions, which typically require 3–5 years of treatment. The approach Dr. Wong teaches is a simpler, modified protocol called Postural Orthodontics. It is intended for mild to moderate expansion-only cases, with treatment typically lasting 12–18 months.)

“I truly believe most orthodontic problems begin with poor oral posture. Corrected early, along with 8mm of lower arch expansion, the need for premolar extractions can largely be eliminated.”

Available after 6 months of mentorship (any tier), for up to 3 months while you pause active treatment — extendable by arrangement if you need longer. Full access to all recorded training and the Clinical Case Study Vault, plus observer access to the live calls. No 1:1 case time — this tier is for study and observation, not active patient treatment. After that you either return to a mentorship tier or continue with standalone Vault access: US$3,497 for 1 year, US$4,997 for 2, or US$5,997 for 3.

Your 3-month readiness review

At the end of each enrollment Dr. Wong gives a short readiness review — written or a brief 1:1 call — recommending you continue, step up, keep studying, or pause. Advancement is based on readiness, not time elapsed. It’s how we make sure every dentist practices within their competency.

Frequently Asked Questions

The questions dentists ask first.

What kinds of cases are suitable, and how long does mentorship last?

For mild–moderate pediatric cases, ages 4–10, expect 12–18 months. You can extend or change tiers at any point if you take on more cases or want deeper mentorship. Some members stop after 3–6 months; others have stayed 2–3+ years.

I’m not sure my child’s case is suitable. Can you check?

For US$197 we assess the records to determine suitability — we generally don’t take on severe cases, which can take 3–5 years to treat. Dr. Wong records a ~10–15 minute Zoom walkthrough including the Angle classification. Alternatively, US$500 buys a 30-minute live 1:1 Zoom call with him.

Book a Case Review →

Records required: Pediatric Sleep Questionnaire, orthodontic photo panel, PanX / OPG, and a lateral cephalometric radiograph. 2D X-rays or large-field CBCT are both acceptable.

How do you track minutes and charge for overage?

Zoom recordings show when your session starts and ends — from the moment Dr. Wong opens your folder to the end of the session. Time is rounded up to the nearest half-minute before the charge is calculated.

When is the first payment due?

At least 2 weeks before your first mentoring session. This lets us plan capacity and gives you time to prepare your first case submission.

What if I need to take a break?

Once you’ve completed 6 months of mentorship — any tier, or a mix — you can step down to Listen & Learn at US$250/month for up to 3 months — extendable by arrangement if you need longer. You keep all training you already have access to, the Clinical Case Study Vault, and observer access to the live calls while you pause active treatment. After that, return to a tier or continue with standalone Vault access — US$3,497 for 1 year, US$4,997 for 2 years, or US$5,997 for 3.

Is this passive learning?

No. Mentorship is case-based and applied. Progress depends on your case submission, your attendance, and what you implement between sessions.

The Mentorship Commitment Pledge

Mentorship runs on mutual commitment.

Dr. Wong and his team commit to sharing their knowledge, experience and guidance without holding back. In return, every member commits to the standard below. Members sign this on joining.

  1. My patients come first. Every child I treat deserves my best judgment and continual learning. I accept that “you start, you own” — the patients I begin, I see through.
  2. I will show up fully — not just for my own slot. I’ll attend the full sessions I can, join the weekly Q&A, and study other doctors’ cases between sessions. That’s where clinical judgment is actually built.
  3. I will practice within my competency — and ask for help early. When I’m uncertain, or a case takes an unexpected turn, I’ll seek guidance promptly rather than wait until it’s harder to fix.
  4. I will come prepared. Complete records, submitted on time, previous recommendations reviewed.
  5. I accept that mastery takes consistency. There are no shortcuts to becoming a safe, confident clinician — I’m here for the journey, not a quick answer.
  6. I will contribute to our community. Sharing what I learn, helping where I genuinely can, and respecting the confidentiality of the cases and colleagues discussed there.
  7. I represent something bigger than myself. My conduct reflects on my patients, on this community, and on the standard Dr. Wong has spent decades building.

Signed by every member on joining.
